I am thrilled to be sharing with you a day in the life of Kirstyn Brown. Kirstyn is the Editor-in-Chief for STRONG Fitness Magazine. Today she will be telling us all the ins and outs of running a business, how to keep up with crazy deadlines, behind the scenes of the magazine world, her journey of how she became an Editor-in-Chief and even how to break into the fitness industry, whether it be fitness modeling or writing and submitting articles.

PBU_7909After graduating from college, Kirstyn entered into the world of freelance, constantly searching for a more steady position in journalism. With the extra time on her hands and the college weight she was dying to shed, she found herself picking up a ton of fitness magazines, while on the treadmill. Finding her new love for exercise and fitness, Kirstyn applied to work for Oxygen Magazine, landing a position where most of us all have to start…at the bottom of the totem pole.

Working for Oxygen, Kirstyn had finally found her niche until the magazine went bankrupt and was sold to an American company where it would then be reborn. Being out of a job with others from Oxygen, Kirstyn was approached by the amazing photographer Paul Buceta who came up with the idea to collaborate and start STRONG Magazine, where you can find Kirstyn at today.

“When we came up with the name STRONG, it was magic. I knew that this was the new path for me and I am just so grateful for it.”
