Staying On Track During the Holidays

The holidays are approaching fast with the first candy-filled one just a few days away. Here’s what can help you get through these times.

We all still have goals that we’re going for, but you also want to have a little fun and live a little around this time. I recommend looking at your calendar and deciding when you want to let go and have a little fun. With Halloween just around the corner, one of the easiest ways to help avoid the candy craze is to BUY LESS initially! It’s OK if you run out of candy. It is MUCH easier when you make the decision to buy less at the store than to have to say “no” multiple times a day for weeks after Halloween.

For parties, trying bringing a healthy snack to pass…and you don’t even have to tell the other guests it’s healthy. But you’re doing your part to stay on track with your goals.

The Choices We Make

“Oh, You’re Drinking The Kool-Aid!”

Have you ever heard that term? It’s typically associated with a negative meaning, like we are buying into something that doesn’t seem realistic. But, what can happen as you start to go through a self-development journey, you may start to leave some people behind or just spend less time with them.

The problem comes when those people try to hold you down…and it’s usually not even on purpose, they are trying to love on you, but don’t realize they are hurting you. They may start to say things like “oh you’re drinking the kool-aid”.

But who says that means something bad?! If you’re doing something that feels good and you feel it’s in the right direction for your life, I say DRINK UP! They are the ones drinking the negative kool-aid…you got the good stuff!

xo!

The Power of A Deadline

While we’re constantly trying to grow and set goals in all areas of our lives, we need to do more than JUST setting goals. I am talking about setting MASSIVE DEADLINES. Put so much on the line that it ensures you will show up and complete it on time.

There’s real science that states when you actually set a deadline you are inviting the solutions into your life. Your brain and subconscious start to go to work on that deadline. When you have it locked in and shared it with others, you are going to rise to the occasion!

YES, IT’S SCARY!

But set the deadline, lock in the date, the time, etc. Whatever it looks like to set that deadline, you must do it. Then, you’ll freak out! Great! After that, now it’s time to go into faith. You would NOT have gotten the idea if you weren’t capable of handling or accomplishing it. So relax, understand the fear is normal and stay in faith.

Then, you can start to take the action and move forward toward that deadline.
